18

Who doesn't miss the days of big hair, holiday outfits, and having books read to you? And of course, who doesn't miss being that cute?
I think I've had a very "adult" birthday....quite fitting for being 18. Small get together, a private dinner, opened presents with just very close friends...no big thing. And still attended meetings and did routine things. I think that's what birthdays are like as you get older. I know it's cliched for me to say this now, but this is the first birthday in a long time where I've actually felt like I've grown up a lot. I think my age is beginning to fit my disposition finally. Not that I want to get much older than this though :) haha.
Going to Bergen on Tuesday quite unexpectedly. I'm going to pick up a politician and humanitarian crusader from Western Sahara, the 2002 Rafto Prize winner. It should be very, very cool. Sometimes things just happen for me. I feel like I'm never too sure how I get where I do or how I manage to do things I do, but things just work out.
Ok I'm done. Birthday cake time. I don't think I'll ever be too old for birthday cake.
